I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend filled with food, family, and a little well-deserved downtime.

For many of us, the holiday is a chance to slow down, enjoy a plate (or three) of our favorites, and spend time with the people we care about most.

But as someone who spent more than 40 years in the restaurant industry, I also know Thanksgiving can be a tough week for many of our local restaurants and their employees.

With the holiday closures, staff often lose a day of shifts and tips, and restaurants lose a day of revenue, something small businesses feel much more than most.

That’s why this week is a perfect time to get back out there and support your favorite Battle Creek eateries.

Grab dinner at a local spot, stop in for coffee, swing by a food truck, or finally try that new place you’ve been meaning to check out. Every meal, every visit, every shared recommendation makes a real difference.

And trust me, many of our local restaurants are rolling out fun seasonal dishes, holiday specials, and festive treats you won’t want to miss.

This is the time of year when creativity hits the menu, and there’s no better way to enjoy it than right here in the Cereal City.
