Nina's Taqueria to Close Original Augusta Location, Battle Creek Site Remains Open |
Family-Owned Mexican Restaurant Bids Farewell to Augusta After 27 Years |
Nina's Taqueria, a cherished family-owned Mexican restaurant, has announced the closure of its original location in Augusta, Michigan, effective December 19, 2025.
Established in August 1998, the Augusta eatery has been a cornerstone of the community, offering authentic Mexican cuisine for over two decades.
Despite the closure, the family's second location in Battle Creek will continue to serve patrons, ensuring that loyal customers can still enjoy their favorite dishes.
In addition to the Battle Creek restaurant, the family operates Nina's Market, also located in Battle Creek, which specializes in Mexican groceries and specialty ingredients.
Reflecting on the decision, co-owner Martha Martinez expressed deep gratitude to the Augusta community.
"Augusta will always be the place where a dream was transformed into reality," Martinez shared.
"You have seen us through ups and downs and stayed loyal to us through thick and thin. We will always be grateful for how you kept us afloat during the pandemic."
The closure of the Augusta location marks the end of an era for the local dining scene.
However, the continued operation of the Battle Creek restaurant and market ensures that the legacy of Nina's Taqueria lives on.
As the Augusta location prepares to close its doors, the Martinez family invites patrons to visit their Battle Creek establishments to continue enjoying the flavors and hospitality that have defined Nina's Taqueria for years.
For more information, customers can visit the restaurant's official website or contact the Battle Creek location directly. |
